About Dr. Kirk Hansen — Lacey's Most Experienced Chiropractor
Choosing a chiropractor is a decision built on trust. You want someone who has seen your condition before, who will be honest with you about what's causing your pain, and who will provide care that actually makes a difference — without pressure, without guesswork, and without keeping you coming back longer than you need to.
For patients throughout Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, and Thurston County, that chiropractor is Dr. Kirk Hansen.

With 50 years in practice, advanced orthopedic credentials, and a reputation built entirely on results and integrity, Dr. Hansen brings a depth of clinical experience that is rare in any healthcare setting — and nearly unmatched in chiropractic care in the South Puget Sound region.

Member — American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists
The American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists represents practitioners who have met the advanced educational and clinical standards of chiropractic orthopedic practice. Dr. Hansen's membership reflects his standing within the specialty and his adherence to its ethical principles, which include placing patient welfare above all else.

Member — American Academy of Chiropractic Physicians
Diplomate — American Academy of Pain Management Issued July 25, 2011 · Certificate No. 2703

The Diplomate designation from the American Academy of Pain Management is awarded in recognition of high standards of care and practices consistent with superior ethical concerns for the relief of pain. This credential reflects Dr. Hansen's expertise in managing complex, multi-dimensional pain conditions — the kind that often frustrate patients who have tried other approaches without lasting success.
50 Years of Practice. One Unwavering Standard.
Dr. Hansen graduated from Palmer College in 1975 and has been practicing in Washington State since 1976. That means he has been helping patients recover from pain and restore function for five decades — through changes in technology, insurance systems, clinical research, and the healthcare landscape as a whole.
What has not changed in all that time is his standard of care.

Every patient receives a thorough one-on-one examination before any treatment begins. Every diagnosis is based on clinical evidence, not assumptions. Every treatment plan is built around what the patient's condition actually requires — not what generates the most revenue or the most return visits.

After treating thousands of patients across 50 years, Dr. Hansen has seen a remarkable range of conditions and cases. That breadth of experience means he is rarely surprised, often recognizes patterns that others miss, and brings a calm, grounded perspective to even the most complex or discouraging situations.

Inspired by Personal Experience
Dr. Hansen's path into chiropractic began with a personal one. After sustaining an athletic injury, he experienced firsthand what safe, drug-free, hands-on chiropractic care could do — not just for pain, but for function, confidence, and quality of life. That experience shaped not only his decision to enter the profession, but the way he has practiced within it ever since.

He understands what it feels like to be injured, frustrated, and uncertain about whether you'll ever feel like yourself again. That understanding drives the empathy, patience, and clinical thoroughness his patients consistently describe in their reviews.
What Makes This Practice Different
Dr. Hansen has deliberately kept his Lacey clinic small, private, and focused. This is not a high-volume operation where patients are moved quickly from one table to the next. It is a one-provider, one-patient environment designed for people who value experience, precision, and honest communication.

You will always see Dr. Hansen directly. There are no associates, no assistants performing treatment, and no bait-and-switch. When you make an appointment with Dr. Hansen, your entire visit is with Dr. Hansen.

Appointments are never rushed. Your first visit includes a full consultation and orthopedic evaluation. Follow-up visits are focused and purposeful. You will always have time to ask questions and understand exactly what is happening with your care.

Treatment continues only as long as it is needed. Dr. Hansen's "catch and release" philosophy means your care plan is driven entirely by your clinical progress. When you're better, you're done — unless you choose occasional maintenance care on your own terms. There are no prepaid packages, no pressure to extend treatment, and no guilt if you feel ready to stop.

Honesty comes before everything. If chiropractic care is not the right solution for your condition, Dr. Hansen will tell you — and guide you toward the provider who can help. Patients throughout Thurston County trust him precisely because he has never prioritized his own schedule over their wellbeing.

Patient-Centered Chiropractor in Lacey, WA
"10 out of 10"
I have been to many chiropractors in my life and never have I experienced such a warm welcome like Dr. Hansens office.
He and his wife, Diana, take you in and treat you like family. Dr. Hansen has had his practice for decades now and with that comes wisdom that is much needed in this industry.
He and his wonderful wife both go out of their way to ensure your needs are met. Every now and then I have to bring my kids with me and they both are very inclusive with them during my visit and make a wonderful experience for them as well.
10 out of 10 would recommend! - Katrina H.

"An amazing team!"
If you are looking for a chiropractor, please visit Dr. Kirk Hansen. He has been my chiropractor for many years.
Dr. Hansen has helped me through many aches and pains, some worse than others but each needing professional help. He listens, then helps. I am so thankful! Also, what I have appreciated is I schedule an appointment when I need help and a follow up if I need more help.
Dr. Hansen doesn't suggest that I come back for a few more visits, just in case. If I feel I need additional care, I call and make another appointment.
Helping me heal is Dr. Hansen's goal and the goal of Diana, his wife, who manages the office. An amazing team! - Stephanie B.
